Hello everyone! How are you?
Recently, I am worry about a consumption tax. I heard that Mr. Noda decided to increase consumption tax rate. At present, the consumption tax rate is 5 percent, but then it would be raised in stages to 10 percent by 2015. That is, twice burden than now!
We go shopping almost every day. We buy a lot of stuff. For example, foods, drinks, clothes, books, daily necessities… and so on. At first we must feel a heavy burden if the consumption tax rate is raised to 10percent in practice.
However I think it is necessary to increase taxes. It is true that the National Treasury doesn’t have enough funds to adopt many policies. Especially, it is important to prepare the funds for the disaster areas of the Tohoku Earthquake to recover and rebuild. Then, if we demand high-level social security in our future, we have to accept paying large taxes.
How do you think about it?
Hello, Manami!
ReplyDeleteIt is a big and difficult problem, I think. Of course, we will have to bear many financial difficulties, but I also think that it is necessary for our future. However, we must have a lot of information about how to use our taxes, I think.

ReplyDeleteHello! manami
I am interested in consumption tax.IMF advice the government to raise tax rate by 15%. We should the future of Japan more siriously.
I wonder what the tax rate is in other countries, especially Asian countries. In Ontario, Canada, where I am from, it is 15% and has been so for more than 10 years. When I came to Japan in 1989, the tax rate was only 3%. I thought that was ridiculously low. But I agree, I will feel a pinch if it goes up to 10%.
