Blog#14 My favorite CM

Monday 2 Ryota Yamada
Hello everyone ! I will introduce my favorite CM  to you.

The CM I'll introduce is "zyumangoku manzyu"(十万石饅頭).
"zyumangoku manzyu"(十万石饅頭) is very famous as a delicious sweet of japanese .  (But I have never eaten.)
But the TV cm is more famous than itself.  Whenever I watch Saitama TV ,  this CM is broadcasted. So people in Saitama pref , maybe everyone, know this CM. At first , watch this CM ,please.

After watching this CM、I felt that this CM is very easy to understand because of the word "umai , umasugiru!"(うまい、うますぎる!) I might have watched this CM over 1500 times since I was about 10 years old.
But, people don't live in Saitama can't watch this CM. It makes me feel sad. So I want you to watch more CM broardcasting in Saitama pref , if possible!

And I have never eaten it , so I want to eat it once . This is the my aim of 2012. Please eat  "zyumangoku manzyu"(十万石饅頭) you too. please teach me your favorite local CM ,if any.

Blog#14: My favorite TV commercial

Manami Hiramoto

Hello. Today, I would like to take about my favorite TV commercial. It is made by TOKYO GAS. It advertises their products. For example, a gas cooker, a steam sauna in bathroom, a floor heating and so on. The stars are Satoshi Tsumabuki, Manami Konishi, and Mikihisa Azuma etc.

I am interested in its story. I think this commercial is not only a simple advertisement but also a serial drama. It seems to the characters play in a melodrama talking about the products of TOKYO GAS. Then, I wonder how the story will develop after this when I watched this commercial. So I watched this commercial every time though I am not interested in their products.
We can watch old stories and their details in TOKYOGAS’ website. Please check it anytime you feel like it.

Blog#14: The national pension problem

Yuki Morita

Hello. I am interested in the national pension problem in Japan now. If you are 20 years old, you got notices from Japan Pension Service. The notice also reached me 2 weeks ago.

Recently, the national pension problem is discussed frequently. In Japan, there are many people called "the elderly". About 25% of the whole population in Japan are the elderly people in 2010. Of course, we, the young, must support them, but the National Treasury is now very hard up for money. So, the Japanese Government are considering the problem. Now, people of sixty-five and over can receive the pension. However, perhaps only people of sixty-eight or seventy and over can get the pension  in the near future.
I think the corporations have to think the retirement age problem too, because people who retired must depend on their pensions. So, the corporations will have to increase the retirement age, but can all people of sixty-five and over work hard? It may be difficult. The Government and corporations should provide opportunities to play active parts without forces for the elderly.
The national pension problem is very complex. I want to consider it more.

Blog #13: My volunteer activity

Manami Hiramoto

Hello everyone! Now I take part in a volunteer activity at an elementary school in my hometown. Actually I would go to this school named  the Honan elementary school . Then I belong to the support office since this April. The office doesn’t consist of teachers or students’ parents. It consists of only volunteers. But we work in close cooperation with teachers and parents, of course. We do something to help school activities. For example, we worked as staffs in a bazaar which was hold by students’ parents.
Then we hold some extracurricular classes for student such as a calligraphy lesson and an arithmetic class for students who dislike it. The students can take the lessons for free. I take part in the arithmetic class as an assistant teacher. Last Saturday, I gave a lesson to students with other staffs who are also undergraduates. I was very nervous before the class but it went off well.
By the way I like my students; they are so cute and full of vitality. And I can get precious experience for me. So I want to continue this volunteer.

I used this texts at last class.

Blog#12: German

Yuki Morita
Hello! What language do you learn as "a second foreign language" now? I learn German. It is spoken in many countries, such as Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. It resembles English very much and it is easy to read aloud. I've learned it for a year and a half, but it is difficult for me to learn a language besides English.
When I graduated from my high school, we sang "Beethoven's Ninth Symphony". In my high school, students sing "Ode to Joy" by Beethoven every year. The composition is very famous, so you have listened to it surely. The words were written in German. I like "Beethoven's Ninth Symphony", and I was happy to sing it, so I was interested in German. Recently, I listen to it conducted by Seiji Ozawa, a  Japanese conductor.

I think its pronunciation is very powerful. I can't pronounce it well, but I want to speak it, and visit Germany someday.
Please tell me about the language you learn now!

Blog#9: Toast for breakfast

Manami Hiramoto
What do you eat for break fast? Which do you like better for break fast, rice or bread?
Of course, both are very good, but I like bread the best. Especially, I like to eat a slice of toast. I made a sandwich when I have enough time for breakfast. But a toast, it is easier to make.

There are a lot of different ways to enjoy toast. The buttered toast, it is essential. The toast spread jam, honey and chocolate sauce (I like Nutella) taste sweet. Especially the buttered toast with sugar taste very nice, but it must be high-calorie food. Then, Pizza taste and mayonnaise taste give you a feeling of fullness.
By the way,you can make your toast how to you like. What kind of toast do you like?

there are many toppings for toast →

Blog#9: I got a little happiness.

Hello! I'm Yuto.
There was a small tournament of table tennis on Sunday last week. The tournament named “Kitaku Three Doubles” was opened near Ouji station. Our team won the tournament nevertheless we took part in it first time. The tournament wasn’t a big tournament, but I was happy because I got a title since I was a junior high school student. I want to continue to make an effort for other tournaments.

Blog#9: Japanese Animations

Yuki Morita
Hello. I guess you like Japanese comics or animations. Of course, I love them, too! There are many famous animators or animated film directors in Japan, for example, Hayao Miyazaki, Mamoru Oshii, etc. The skills in Japanese animation are very high, so people in all over the world appreciate them.
I interested in them. My hobby is drawing pictures, especially characters of animations. When I watch animations or animated films, I look at the pictures and movement. My favorite animator is Norio Matsumoto. He joined the production of animations many times. He is good at drawing pictures very much! The characters he drew move around freely as if they were really alive! This video shows how wonderful he is!
He drew many famous Japanese animations, for example, ONE PIECE, NARUTO,  EVANGELIONRurouni Kenshin, Sengoku BASARA, Doraemon, etc! He is especially good at action scene.
Many people produce the animations together. Their efforts and ideas are very very terrific! The animators breathe new life into the pictures. I respect them and so I love Japanese animations.

Blog #8: A Sports festival!

Manami Hiramoto
Hi, everyone! Today, I went to Tokyo gymnasium at Sendagaya because the sports festival that my sister took part in was held there. Our school has only a small ground so we rent the gym or the ground for sports festival.

There are many events! For example, a 100m race, some kind of relays, a tug-of-war and so on. The highlight in this festival is the battle of cheering[応援合戦]! The head of cheering group made the original dance and song for their team.
By the way, my little sister attends high school which from my graduated so I remembered my high school day when I cheered her. Then, I met my teacher in charge when I was a third-year student in high school. It made me so happy! I really enjoyed the sports festival !!

Blog#8: Powdered Green Tea

Yuki Morita
Hello, friends! Do you like to drink powdered green tea? It tastes bitter, so many people don't like it. However, it is easy to drink it now.  There are imitations of  green tea Latte everywhere recently.
I joined the tea ceremony club in my high school. We maked powdered tea many times. Its process is simple, but there are many manners in the tea ceremony, for example, we turn a tea bowl before we drink it, and say 「結構なお点前で」 (Your tea was so good. ) .
First, I  thought it was difficult to remember all manners. We maked tea for many people in a school festival, and an old lady who drank the tea thanked us. We were happy. I realized that the most important thing was to consider guest.  After the moment, I became more and more interested in the tea ceremony.
Now, I find great pleasure in making or drinking green tea at place I feel at home, for example, in a Japanese-style room. It doesn't matter where we drink it. I like to drink it at my favorite Japanese-style cafe near my house.

Blog#7: Inter College In Yamaguchi

Ryota Yamada

Last week I went to Yamaguchi to take part in All Japan University Softball Championship  we call "intercollegiate".
And it was the first time I use an airplane,so I was very excited. After arriving at Yamaguchi I was relieved because there is no acccident.
Look at this photo!
This is the photo which was taken in opening ceremony. We are in second from left.

The first game's opponent is International Pacific University (IPU) which is the defending champion. And they have Japan national team pitcher. His name is Shimada.
The ball he throw is about 120km. In baseball, softball's 120km deserve about 160km.

You can see his pitching this movie.
So our team lost in the first game.
But we got good experience. I want you to undergo the speed of "160km" in Batting center!

Blog#7: Return to my father's family home

Manami Hiramoto

Hello everyone! How are you? I went to Hirado City in Nagasaki to meet my relatives. This city is quite a long way from Tokyo. It took 5 hours to arrive at Hakata City in Fukuoka by Shinkansen and 4 hours to get Hirado City by car from Hakata. It was so long trip for me.

By the way, we saw the sights of Hirado. For example the Castle of Hirado, the Saint Joseph church and so on. Then, we met my grandmother on my father's side for the first time in five years. We heard she was ill for long time so we worried about her physical condition. It is hard to go to Hirado City but I want to go there much more times to meet her.

Blog#7: My memory of Sight

Yuki Morita
Hello, friends! Do you enjoy this summer vacation? By the way, what is your best sight or scene you have ever experienced?
I went to a driving school in Tottori to obtain a license in July. The training camp took 14 days, so I stayed there for almost two weeks. Have you ever been to Tottori? It was a heart-warming town. Compared with Tokyo, it is inconvenient in Tottori. There are few big stores. There is little traffic. Of course, it was an empty town, but many people are kind, and they are easygoing.
Tottori is famous for Tottori Sand Dunes (Tottori Sakyu). It was so large just like foreign countries! The Sea of Japan (Nihon-kai) was clear blue, it was very beautiful. However, I love Tottori Sand Dunes in the evening. When I took driving lessons on the public street first, it was evening. We drove along the sea and Sand Dunes. The sun set and sea glittered beautifully. I can't foreget the scene!
If you visit there, I want you to visit there in the evening. The scene will keep in your mind surely!

Blog#8:My trip

Yuto Yamazaki
I went to Nagano with my family for two days. I had a good time.
First, I ate an ice cream which was made of Shirakaba's milk. This ice cream was better taste than other ice creams in Tokyo.
Second, I went to the musium of Utsukusigaharakougen and saw a lot of arts. After I saw them, I ate Shinsyu soba which was very famous. It's taste was great! This photo was taken at Yashimagahara wetland. There were many creatures. For example, frogs, dragonflies, butterfies and so on.  The view was very beautiful! This trip excited me!

Blog#6: A Ghost Story

Yuki Morita
Hello! What do you imagine about Japanese summer? In my case, I imagine a ghost story. Do you like it? In fact, it's very very very hard for me!!! I can't watch horror film or TV alone. However, I like to listen to ghost stories.

Do you know the man? He is Yakumo Koizumi (Patrick Lafcadio Hearn). He was a British who studied about Japan in Meiji period. When he was 40 years old, he came to Japan and taught English in Matsue, Shimane. He loved Japanese traditional culture. Especially, he was fascinated by Japanese ghost stories.
In Shimane, which is loved by Yakumo,  there are the cult of Japanese gods. The god of Izumo-taisha Shrine is Okuninushi-no-mikoto, who created the world. Yakumo was a foreigner, so he was able to feel the Japanese traditional cult more deeply, I think.
Then, he wrote a book titled "kwaidan (a ghost story)". In the book, he introduced many ghosts or oral tradition, for example, a snow fairy (Yuki-onna) and a monster with a long neck (Rokuro-kubi). Even if the stories are horror, the way of his expressing is very warm because he loved Japanese culture.
This summer, I will visit Matsue and join the ghost tour! I want to feel Japanese warm horror Yakumo loved.

Blog#7: I'm existing in my dream now...

Yuto Yamazaki
We are university students. We have a lot of dream and torment. So, I want to introduce this book named "Tokyo Friends" which was written by Rin Eto.
The movie which was consisted of this book was broadcasted in Japan in 2006. A leading actress is Ai Otsuka who is a Japanese famous singer and my favorite singer. "Tokyo Friends" gave me the courage to live on. It is very important book for me, so I include "tf" in my E-mail adress. I like this words which the leading actress said in this book and movie many times.
"Do you still remember the first dream you had? I haven't come to the point to say proudly, this is my dream. I'm not sure if this is where I can find happiness... But still, I want to remember this moment forever."
In this summer vacation, let's make many happy memories! Please click here and listen to "to me" which Survival Company which is the special band in the movie sing!

Blog#6: Summer Color

Yuto Yamazaki
Hello!! How are you? Are you wilting in this heat? I'm very healthy! Summer is my favorite season! In Japan, high school students play baseball at Koshien in this season. It is very exciting! I have a lot of manga about the theme.
This time, I want to introduce "H2". This book is written by Mitsuru Adachi who writes "Touch". He is one of the famous cartoonists. I can't explain about the story because it is very long, so read it, please! You can read it at coffee shops with a manga library and used-book stores.

Blog#6: Disabled Sports

Ryota Yamada

Some days ago,I joined disabled baseball team as a helper, because I wanted to experience various things through baseball.
At first ,I doubted whether they could play baseball truly. Because the members of the team are composed of people who don't have one hand, people lost the use of one leg and so on.
But, starting the baseball game, instinctively, I was moved.Because the game was a evenly balanced game and the enemy team was composed of people with healthy body.
In fact our team lost the game, but I realized that we must not look down on handicapped person and label them the weak..They are enjoying their life with strong hearts.

I want everyone to learn about handicapped person more.

I thought I underwent good experience.

Blog #6: I like musicals

Manami Hiramoto

Have you ever seen musicals? Do you like them? I like musicals very much. I often go to see a musical with my friends. For example “Les Miserables” “Cats” “Lion King” “Dream after Dream” and so on. They are marvelous musical! Their songs and dances are very powerful. They were exciting stages.

Recently, I saw “Beauty and the Beast” by SIKI theater company with my family. This is based on Disney’s movie which has same title. It was gorgeous stage: chorus was cheerful, dance was happily and actors dressed elaborately. I felt really that the dishes, the candle and the clock are moving now!

By the way, the musical I like best is “Wicked”. Its chorus and dance are nice of course, but I love this scenario. This is a side story of “The Wizard of OZ”. It moved me deeply. I recommend you seeing a live musical at least once! I am sure you will enjoy it.

Blog #5: My summer vacation!

Manami Hiramoto
Hello. Recently it has been very very hot! So be careful of heatstroke when you stay outside for a long time. Well, the picture is a summer greeting card I received.

By the way, our summer vacation will be coming, you know. Did you decide what to do in your summer vacation? For example, to do something outdoor sports, to take a trip and to meet your old friends and so on. They are so nice!
Talking about me, I’m going to try to begin new stuff. I mean I will start a part time job during summer vacation. I am expected work as a guide at “the Castle of Kids” whose Japanese name is "こどもの城”. When I was a child, I went there with my family. I enjoyed playing in it.

It is a compound institution: it is mainly a playground for children under 18 years of age and it has two theaters, several meeting rooms for adults. There is the castle in front of Aoyama Gakuin University and beside United Nations University in Omotesando. Many people visit the castle especially on holiday. Sometimes it has 3000 visitors! And there are not only Japanese families but also families from abroad. Some families from abroad can speak Japanese, others only understand English. That’s why I must practice to talk to them in English naturally.
Please tell me what you plan to do during the vacation. Have a nice summer vacation!

Blog#4: Trip to southern part of Japan

Yuki Morita
Hello! In fact, I want to show a photo of my pet, because Yuto and Ryota showed photos of pretty animals! But I don't have any pets, so I put my favorite photo of a hedgehog. It's very lovely, isn't it? After I see this photo, I go to school every day.
By the way, he says "Do you like traveling?"This is a topic I want to talk about today. Do you like traveling? Where did you go on a school trip when you were high school students? If you went abroad, you were so lucky! In my case, I went to Kagoshima in Kyushu on a school trip. (Why Kagoshima…?) Have you ever been there? Possibly Kagoshima isn't popular for tourists, but I was struck by the power of nature there.
This is a photo of sunset in Bounotsu, southern part of Kagoshima. The sky was very open. We can't see such open skies in big cities. Bounotsu is famous for a place Ganjin, a Buddhist monk from China, arrived at about 1260 years ago. As if we slipped into another time,  the sky and sea were beautiful.
When we travel, we can see many beautiful views, and meet many kind people. Of course I want to go abroad, but there are many interesting places to visit in Japan. That's why I like to travel around Japan. If you go to Kagoshima, please go sightseeing! As you know, Kagoshima has not only nature but also a history, so you will enjoy traveling!

Blog #2: My favorite color

Yuto Yamazaki
Hello! This time, I want to talk about my favorite color. The color is purple. The reason why I like is that purple is mysterious and noble color for me. So,  I have many goods of purple,  for example,  a wrist watch,  a T-shirt,  a rucksack and so on. All of the items aren't used at the same time. I use an item for accent.
By the way,  I'm belonging to group G. The blog of group G's background is purple,  too. It's a miracle! I'm very happy!
I can't image purple pictures. So, I bring non-related picture. The cat is my friend's. It's very cute!

Blog#1: My favorite restaurant

Ryota Yamada
Hello everyone!

Today, I would like to introduce my favorite restaurant.I often go to DoutorCofee in Mejiro after practicing softball.

DoutorCofee is loved by many people including me ,so  DoutorCofee have 1,118 stores all over Japan.
The restaurant`s good point I think is what we can have a confortable time at that place.
In fact, last Tuesday,I spent 3hours in the shop for the confortable space.
And,other good point is food.Especially,I like"german dog".

German dog contains a lot of mustard, but this is very delicious.I recommend this food when you go to there.
By the way the price is 200 yen,so I can eat if I have a only little money.
Like this  DoutorCofee is good place.
Please visit here if you have free time.

Blog#1: I am the cheese

Monday2 Yuto Yamazaki
First, I want to introduce a restaurant I like. I usually eat Gyudon at Matsuya once a week. When I don't have enough money and when I don't have a lot of time to eat lunch, I go to the restaurant. It's a good place for university students because we can eat by ourselves and the food is very cheap and the waiters bring the food soon after we ordered. I think that the fast food restaurants in Japan are very good for busy men, but the foods are very high calories, so I don't want to go there everyday. I think that it is the best life to go there once a week for me now.
Second, I want to introduce a food I like. The food I like is cheese, especially Camembert cheese because it's taste is excellent. When I eat it, I become very happy. And I like all kinds of cheese, so I like the food using cheese, such as pizza, gratin and so on.

Blog #1 My favorite cafe in Shibuya

Manami Hiramoto

Good evening! Today, I would like to introduce my favorite café. I usually go to some cafés to take a break or to talk with my friends.
The café that I’ m going to talk about is in Shibuya. Though there are many cafés in this city, it is not only good but also unique. The café is called "attic room". As its name suggests, it is opened on the top floor of the building, and it is similar to a kid’s hideout. Then, all seats it has are sofas, so we can sit comfortably and chat with our friends for hours over tea or coffee.

Please visit “attic room” if you have an opportunity to take a tea break in Shibuya. I’ m sure you will have a good time in this café.

Blog#1: My favorite café

Yuki Morita
Hello, everyone! I want to introduce my favorite café in Tokyo. Do you like to go to a café? If you like it, do you often go there? I go to a café near our school  in my free time; about once a week. I love café. With our favorite coffee or tea, we can relax and feel at home. At the café, I sometimes read a book, do my homework, think about something, or do nothing! Most of the cafés are quiet until the lunchtime begins, so we can do something comfortably.
The other day, I met a rare café, "RAMBRE" in Shinjuku. It is called "meikyoku-kissa" in Japanese. We can  enjoy the nostalgic, Showa-style atmosphere, listening to classical music.
The café has a long history, over 50 years. The entrance of "RAMBRE" is small, so we tend to think it is a small café. Don't be tricked! It has more than 200 seats underground, in large space! It is not crowded all day, so we can relax there for many hours. The old-fashioned café is rare in a big city, Tokyo. When I go there, I always feel that I am in a different world. I don't know classical music very much, but I like to listen to it, so I recommend it to you, especially who like classical music. The prices of drinks, meals or cakes are cheaper than those of other cafés in Tokyo, I think. How about visting it and enjoying the nostalgic world? It would be fun!
I like to visit a café, so if you know wonderful coffee shop, please tell me about it!
