Blog#7: My memory of Sight

Yuki Morita
Hello, friends! Do you enjoy this summer vacation? By the way, what is your best sight or scene you have ever experienced?
I went to a driving school in Tottori to obtain a license in July. The training camp took 14 days, so I stayed there for almost two weeks. Have you ever been to Tottori? It was a heart-warming town. Compared with Tokyo, it is inconvenient in Tottori. There are few big stores. There is little traffic. Of course, it was an empty town, but many people are kind, and they are easygoing.
Tottori is famous for Tottori Sand Dunes (Tottori Sakyu). It was so large just like foreign countries! The Sea of Japan (Nihon-kai) was clear blue, it was very beautiful. However, I love Tottori Sand Dunes in the evening. When I took driving lessons on the public street first, it was evening. We drove along the sea and Sand Dunes. The sun set and sea glittered beautifully. I can't foreget the scene!
If you visit there, I want you to visit there in the evening. The scene will keep in your mind surely!

  1. Hi,
Thanks for introducing Tottori. It is one of the few places I haven't been to in Japan, though I went to Shimane.
I heard about the sand dunes, so thanks for the photo.
Did you eat something good while you were there?
As to your question, my most memorable scene this summer was the umiushi I saw while diving in Okinawa. Another scene was the whipping wind and hard rain in Okinawa during the typhoon 8/3-8/5. We were staying at the central point of the typhoon!

  2. Hello~.
I went to Tottori Sakyu in this January with my family.
That time, it snowed very hard, so we had a hard time to go home.
I think the view is beautiful, too.

I want to visit Tottri Sakyu very much!!

I went to Asuka-mura in August.
The scenery was very different from Tokyo. I saw not only temples and big stones but many paddy fields that are very beautiful and reach the sky!

Asuka-mura was the place where I had wanted to visit for a lomg time. Tottori Sakyu is one of the place I really want to visit, too.
So, please tell me more about it.
